Submission Guidelines
A great submission
The primary purpose of Bluemapia.com is to provide a really useful platform for sharing and finding sailing related information. In order for us to live up to that goal, we need great content. We’re doing our best to provide the tools to do that, and we need you to try your best by creating great submissions. A great submission to Bluemapia.com includes a relevant photo or other media item of the area you have knowledge about, as well as some useful explanatory text. A submission without a photo, and only a few words, will be deleted after a three day grace period.
Categorise, label & tag your content
The world is a big place, and in order to find content quickly and easily, we need your submissions to be entered correctly, and with as much detail as possible. Tags are the key to good search, so when you submit content, be sure to add as many tags as you can think of.
Make it relevant
Content should be relevant and add something to the material already available. Bluemapia.com provides information resources for boaters, so when you make a submission, please try not to stray way off topic.
Commercial Use
Bluemapia.com does not allow the hosting of commercial logos or banners, except as a profile image, and never in a placemark. Text in placemarks, trips or points of interest must not contain references to commercial offers. We will accept reasonable definitions such as “we are a charter company operating in this area”, but only in the “About You” field of your profile page.
Uploading Photographic & Media Content
We reserve the right to review or reject any photographic or media content that violates our Terms of Use. For example, photographic imagery or other media that contains illegal content, copyright violation, trademark infringement, pornography or invasion of privacy.
