Overview
Camaraet-sur-Mer, located in the department of Finistère (End of the Earth) houses a sheltered and nice marina, in a beautiful Breton town with well protected anchorage for those who prefer to drop the hook. it is an excellent place to plan your Biscay crossing to Spain, and I would recommend it over going all the way into Brest. All facilities are available in Camaret, with two marinas (both cost the same), large supermarket, chandlery, bars etc. As to which of the two marinas to choose, there are benefits to both. The one closest to town is obviously better for provisioning, yet the one near the breakwater may be less crowded.
Remember: Maintaining 4kts, La Coruna is only 80 or so hours away!
Facilities
Gasoil (diesel) only. Pumps are located by the breakwater of port Vauban. Payment by credit card 24h a day.
Ice by the Harbour master.
Internet
WIFI available through Netabord but very expensive – ½ hour – 4 euros, 1 hour – 6 euros, 24 hours – 24 euros. Possible to get free WiFi in one of the nearby café's – Just buy a coffee.
